It's nice to be asked to things!
We 'table top rp' game twice a week with the same GM but different groups of people... very different groups of people! On Thursdays we go to Julie and Ainsley's they are a wonderful couple in their thirties with three fabulous, and I really mean ~fabulous~ daughters, aged abot 7,4 and 1. All three are well behaved happy, friendly and outgoing, one can't help but enjoy being with them, and I'm always a little disappointed when we arrive late and they've gone to bed. Anyway, we have been invited to the youngests' christening on Sunday, it's been a very long time since we went to a christening, and the invitation was so unexpected... it's nice to be invited!

Random thoughts
Why is it when you're sitting in the car driving somewhere you can perfectly word that paragraph you've been struggling over for hours prior to sitting behind the wheel, and even more frustrating why can't you remember that perfect wording when you are once more sat in front of the computer!
Whatever makes me think it's a good idea to drive faster to get to the petrol station quicker before the tank is empty?
Oh and I was living in the house when the damned seaguls built their nest! They picked the spot, si they have no right to be dive bombing me everytime I walk down the path... they knew I was there!(grumble mumble)
I don't care why you so urgently needed the kettleful of hot water I hilled and boiled for my cup of tea, I want to know why you didn't refill it and boil it again!
Are zebras white with black stripes or black with white stripes?
.... and just finally what's with fishermen treating the ocean as an endless resource... and then being surprised that the size and numbers of fish are diminishing, but it's not their fault and they have a right to continue to take tons of fish?

The Thesis
Did you know that Aristotle was the first person to document, identify and describe patterns and order in the development of animals in 320BCE? And that Ernst Haeckel was the first person to draw out a phylogeny (evolutionary tree)? von Baer differentiated the three stage basis for embryology, Lamarck identified the first difinitive invertebrate(without spine, creepy crawlies) phylogeny, Libby Hyman published 6 volumes of descriptions of various invertebrates and the final one was on molluscs...
I just had to get that off my chest, I've spent a morning researching all this stuff so I can pontificate on it should I be asked in my viva, and all because I need to reference those names in the introduction...yes just three lines and a heap of references... but I have to know it just in case I'm asked. *sigh*
... and precisely how am I supposed to link the big picture of embryonic development to the more precise one of gastropods in just a sentence?.... and why don't search engines throw up the information you need when you ask?...huh? huh?...
It can be frustrating... sorry... ignore me :D I feel better now.

Persistence
There is a biblical scripture that says ~Pray without ceasing~ (1 Thes. 5 v17) and I heard smeone preaching on just this verse, and one of the ways he explained it was that we should pray... and never give up. Furthermore, that if our lives were indeed a prayer, then in everything, we should strive to attain the very best we could be... we should never give up when we meet with difficulties.
Yesterday Leto was a perfect example of ~pray, and never give up~ well, never giving up anyway. Chris was putting up hooks to hang the ladder in the garage, we have a pitched roof on the garage so the water tank is up in the loft space, and there is an access hole, the lid of which was open as Chris was lining up the hooks so they screwed into beams and not just celing plaster. Leto climbed up the ladder and tried to jump into the access, Chris lifted him down. He did this on numerous occasions, and everytime the outcome was the same, Leto ended up on the floor. Then we stood back and counted.. he was up to eleven tries when we got fed up and moved the ladder! He ever lives in hope of getting just that bit higher, or into that dark and inviting space. In cat terms, he prays without ceasing!
